Just a few of the areas
Central Market
Originally built as a wet market, Central Market now showcases Malaysian arts, crafts and local products.Even if you're not shopping, it's worth visiting to understand Malaysia's cultural diversity.Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences all come together here.Yes, it's a little touristy, but there is still plenty happening beyond the souvenir stalls. During one visit we stumbled into a pop-up event, met a six-foot bright red octopus filming a telecommunications advert (admittedly a human inside a costume rather than an actual octopus), and somehow ended up being handed free ice cream by a company promoting its latest campaign. As random travel days go, it was a good one.
